In Person Training Options
Ready to start a new life with your pup?
Alright! Let’s get down to business shall we? Regardless of which in person training option you wish to choose (and if you're not sure, that's totally ok, we will help you make that decision) the process begins with the Foundation Mini-Course and a Consultation with Corey.
Step one is to go through the Foundation Mini-Course. This course has all of the information Corey has always given to new clients at the In Person Consultation. It goes in depth into a multitude of topics that will start off your training journey right. It is vital to understand why dogs do the things they do, how they learn and how they communicate prior to stepping foot in the classroom. Watching it in advance will give you more time to digest the information and you will not have Corey talk at you for two to three hours. The course is broken up into 10-20 minute videos that you can watch at your pace before coming to meet with us.
Then, you'll come for the Consultation which will focus on your individual questions, struggles, goals and making a training plan. Corey will make his recommendation for the next step in the training, be it private lessons or board and train. But! The ultimate decision is yours. It all depends on how much time and effort you wish to put in, as well as where you currently are at mentally. Some clients are excited with a brand new dog and they just want to start off on the right paw and build an awesome relationship. So they’re amped and ready to take on the full workload. Others are struggling, and that’s ok. We’ve had folks who are at the end of their ropes and about to surrender their dog because they just can’t handle them anymore. And again, that’s totally ok. Those folks, we’ll typically direct towards Board & Train so they can get a break to reset, we can start the pup down a better path, and then they can catch up later with the private lessons post Board & Train.
Pricing - the big question everyone asks, the Foundation Mini-Course is $50, and the Consultation is $50. That $100 total goes towards the package you choose. For example, if you go with the Basic Lesson Package, the mini-course and Consultation are effectively free because you'd only be paying an additional $380 after the Consultation is covered.
**Due to Covid-19, we began offering virtual training options via Zoom. We can do both virtual Consultations as well as Private Lessons whether that would make you more comfortable during this crazy time or if you live outside of Phoenix.**
Private Lessons are for folks who wish to be a direct part of their dog’s training journey from the very first step. Basically, the lesson time is for Corey to teach you how to teach your dog and then in between the lessons, you will practice what you learned with your pup. Generally the lessons are weekly, but depending on the dog/what’s going on in the world, we can also spread them out however it makes most sense. Lessons never expire, so if you want to save one for later just in case you need it, you can always do that. We have three private lesson packages:
The Basics Package
You will get:
The Advanced Package
This package includes:
The Complete Package
Board & Train
We typically recommend Board & Train for folks who have dogs with a bit more severe behavior issues, those who are at their wits end, or those who just want us to do the legwork to expedite the whole training process. As a reminder, this is not the “magic” option. Your dog will NOT be a perfect robot dog when they come home to you. You will still need to make adjustments and put in the training time, but it will be significantly easier for both you and your dog. Our Board & Train packages are somewhat flexible so we can tailor the program to suit your needs, but here are the baseline options:
Basics B&T Package
Intermediate B&T Package
Advanced B&T Package
- Additional B&T weeks available - we can tailor a program just for your dog!
- Also, we offer a Multi-Dog Discount, so if you have multiple pups, you are eligible for a 10% discount on all boarding services.
We know this is a lot to digest...
... so don’t feel like you need to come to the consultation prepared to make a decision right away. Corey will talk it out with you and you can take your time making the call. We've had clients take weeks or even months before they make the call. This is an investment in your dog’s future and your own learning about the canine mind, so we want to make sure that you have all the information you need to make an educated decision that you are comfortable with.
Whenever you’re ready, give us a call so we can schedule your consultation!
Oh! And I almost forgot, a perk of becoming a part of the DEV Pack is that your dog can come board with us while you’re away! A lot of boarding facilities have breed restrictions, or are much too stressful for some dogs, so you can travel at ease knowing that your pup is hanging with us in the comfort of the DEV Dog House. The Multi Dog Discount applies to Touch Up Training as well as Regular Boarding so if you have multiple dogs you can enjoy that sweet, sweet 10% off.
